  29. I'm still amazed at how few people actually understand what SGI speed is all
  30. about. Yes the Alpha processor is one of the fastest on the planet. And that
  31. has a direct correlation to the speed of RAY TRACING renderers like LightWave.
  32. And fast floating performance helps. Silicon Graphis hardware is designed for
  33. the REAL-TIME manipulation of Textures and Geometry (i.e. truly interactive
  34. modeling). *NOT* Ray traced rendering. Use a machine for what it's good for.
  35. SGI for Real time viz, simulators, etc. Yes, buy the Raptor, send Bill Gates
  36. some more money, and Render LW images. It's a better price / performance
  37. ratio..
